The Center for Process Excellence is a newly created organization.
The organization is charged with providing Technical, Process and
Continuous Improvement leadership, and support across Aera.
The Central Technical Organization is being created to ensure that
experienced qualified resources are available to support teams
focused on Aera’s unproved reserves. The Senior Facilities Project
Engineer will provide engineering support and project management
leadership to new development and innovation projects. The Senior
Facilities Project Engineer will advance the decision analysis,
detailed design of pilots and full scale projects, selection of
recovery and operational processes, identification of HS&E
considerations, and cost estimation for various projects and pilots.
Project work will focus on growth of Aera’s proved reserve base.
Key Deliverables:
Primary Functions/Responsibilities:

Developing project definition and obtaining
concurrence from all stakeholders
-
Managing facilities process design within the
boundaries of the project definition
-
Developing cost estimates for the approved
project definition
-
Developing project implementation plans, and
detailing procurement strategy, materials handling strategy,
detailed strategy, and contracting strategy
-
Incorporating safety into all process designs
and facilities
-
Ensuring that all process designs and
resulting facilities protect the environment
-
Ensuring that all process designs and
resulting facilities comply with all governing laws and
regulations
-
Executing projects in accordance with the
Aera Project Management Process Guide
-
Incorporating “lean” principles into project
execution to improve the Company’s competitive position in being
able to deliver facilities and systems to support oil and gas
production
-
Identifying risks and uncertainties in
project execution and recommending contingencies that support
their mitigation. Maintaining project cost estimates using
contingency rundown and a disciplined approach to change order
management
-
Selecting materials of construction fit for
service conditions (temperature, pressure corrosively)
-
Communicating with all stakeholders
(management, process team, engineering, contractors) affected by
projects
-
Performing economic analysis for projects and
decisions
Experience/Qualifications:
-
10+ years facilities and Project Management
experience
-
Project engineer/manager for small to
medium-sized projects in which implementation was recognized as
successful
-
Project engineer/manager for a project that
had issues which prevented implementation as originally planned
-
Basic knowledge of piping design codes and
their applicability (e.g., ANSI B31.3)
-
Basic knowledge of pressure vessel codes and
their applicability
-
Basic knowledge of pump system or compressor
system design and control
-
Scope development experience, including
understanding of how to gather and assess customer/stakeholder
requirements
-
Facilitation experience with groups
containing people with diverse backgrounds, expertise, and
goals/objectives
-
Internal or external publication or
contribution to publication
-
Expertise in specialized technical area
