Location: Kern County/ Ventura County Area
Salary Range: Approximately $30/hour (DOE)

Key Deliverables:

  • Understand, troubleshoot, maintain and continuously improve the reliability of electrical and PLC equipment.

  • Perform preventative and predictive maintenance activities that support Aera’s equipment reliability strategy.

  • Ensure environmental, health and safety compliance at all times.

Roles & Responsibilities (list is not all inclusive):

  • PLC programming/trouble-shooting of process equipment and communications systems

  • Control System installation and start-up

  • Maintain, repair and improve reliability of 480 volt electrical equipment

  • Maintain, calibrate, repair and improve reliability of motor controls, pumps, automation, process equipment, compressors, pneumatic and electronic instrumentation

  • Capability to use manufacturing data and specifications to maintain good working condition and effectiveness of equipment

  • Plan, schedule, direct and inspect electrical work done by contractors

Experience/Skills Required:

  • Previous experience working as an Instrument Technician/Electrician

  • Ability to learn quickly, solve problems, get results and communicate effectively in a team environment

  • Ability to trouble shoot, repair and maintain 480 volt electrical equipment.

  • Working knowledge of High Voltage Equipment (e.g. substations, re-closures, air switches, and switch gear)

  • Understanding of automated equipment control systems (i.e. air compressors, I/P’s pneumatic control valves, etc.)

  • Ability to gain an in-depth understanding of PLC logic and Wonderware systems

  • Experience with the following items would be beneficial

    • Root Cause Failure Analysis including TapRoot products

    • Gas/diesel turbine maintenance (Solar)

    • Electrical maintenance (various)

  • Computer Experience with MS Office and SAP desirable
