Key Deliverables of Subject Position’s Group:
-
The MWSS Technical team has the
primary responsibility of maintaining the performance of Aera’s
MWSS reservoirs. This includes incrementally improving the base
oil recovery through managing steam effectively and identifying
bypassed oil infill drilling opportunities. The team is also
responsible for identifying extensions to existing developments
and initiating development in new horizons. Key activities
include analyzing production, injection, and reservoir data to
gain an in-depth understanding of reservoir performance.
Activities also include planning development projects,
production forecasting, economic evaluations and providing
project implementation support.

The goal of the team is to optimize
MWSS reservoir performance.

Business Plan objectives for the
team include pattern reviews, drilling opportunities, steam
targets, well work recommendations and maintaining depletion
plans and reserve books.
Roles and
Responsibilities:
-
This reservoir engineering position
has the following roles and responsibilities:
-
Provide the required reservoir
engineering to develop secondary reservoirs in the MWSS field
such as Tulare, Diatomite, Spellacy and San Joaquin 7.

Provide leadership and coordination
to the effort to develop MWSS secondary reservoirs.
-
Provide reservoir surveillance for
reservoirs in the MWSS Lockwood Lact production areas.
-
Work as the reservoir engineer and
provide leadership as part of a three member team including a
geologist and production engineer.
-
Monitor field production and
injection performance. Identify reservoir performance
deficiencies and develop solutions to correct.
-
Identify development and infill
opportunities. Implement drilling programs.
-
Provide reservoir engineering
support in steamflood pattern/flood reviews to optimize areal
and vertical sweep efficiency.

Optimize primary production from
diatomite light.
-
Participate in reserves survey and
forecast future base production and development projects.
Critical Skills
and Knowledge:
-
Experience with heavy oil reservoir
engineering practices and surveillance methods.
-
Proficient at well and reservoir
performance evaluation.
-
Familiar with using DSS, WRA, Lego,
PEEP, etc.
-
Familiarity with economic
evaluation.
-
Ability to evaluate risks and make
decisions with limited data.
-
Familiarity with and interest in
continuous improvement, business process improvement, and lean
concepts.
-
Good verbal and written
communication skills.
-
Team player able to effectively
work inter-dependently.
