Key Deliverables:
The Belridge heavy oil recovery process team has a primary
responsibility of expanding the reserve base through heavy oil
exploitation efforts, identifying bypassed oil opportunities and
incrementally improving the base oil recovery through managing steam
effectively. Key activities include analyzing geological,
production, injection, and reservoir data to gain an in-depth
understanding of reservoir performance. Activities also include
planning development projects, production forecasting, economic
evaluations and providing project implementation support.
Business Plan objectives for the team include developing geologic
work products characterizing the heavy oil reservoirs in the
Belridge Asset and performing Reservoir Studies and Flood Reviews to
optimize reservoir performance. The objective is to continuously
improve our understanding of the proved developed producing areas of
the Belridge fields and to identify Tulare exploitation and
development opportunities.
Roles and Responsibilities:

This reservoir engineering position
has the following roles and responsibilities:

Provide reservoir surveillance for
the South Belridge Field, North of 7th Standard Road
-
Monitor field production and
injection performance. Identify reservoir performance
deficiencies and develop solutions to correct
-
Provide support for sub-surface hot
water injection and water disposal activities
-
Ongoing planning and support of the
field exit strategy
-
Develop reservoir models for future
development projects and bypassed oil reserves
-
Provide reservoir engineering
support in steamflood pattern/flood reviews to optimize areal
and vertical sweep efficiency
-
Participate in reserves survey and
forecast future projects and base production
Documentation
Experience/Business Accomplishments Required:
-
Experience with heavy oil reservoir
engineering practices using analytical, empirical (analogue),
and numerical (reservoir simulation) methods
-
Proficient at well and reservoir
performance evaluation
-
Familiar with using DDS, Arcview,
Lego, etc.
-
Familiarity with economic
evaluation, statistical analyses, and decision tools (e.g.,
decision trees and monte-carlo simulation)
-
Ability to evaluate risks and make
decisions with limited data
-
Familiarity with and interest in
continuous improvement, business process improvement, and lean
concepts
-
Good verbal and written
communication skills
-
Team player able to effectively
work inter-dependently
