The operations of Aera Energy LLC are centered in California’s San Joaquin Valley, where much of the company’s heavy oil production comes from the oil fields of Kern County -- the largest oil producing county in the nation. The company also produces light oil from the area’s complex Diatomite formation. Aera is active in the large producing fields in Kern County including North and South Belridge, Midway Sunset, Lost Hills, Cymric, and McKittrick. The company has additional onshore California operations located in or near Coalinga, Huntington Beach, San Ardo, and Ventura. Aera also operates Platform Emmy located in state waters one mile off Huntington Beach.
