Aera donation to Ventura PAL creates safe spaces for children
With the help of 21st Annual Ventura Police Activities League (PAL) Golf Tournament, Aera Energy raised more than $12,000 to support of PAL’s after-school and recreation programs. The annual tournament was played at the Olivas Links Golf Course. Aera Energy presented a check during a recent meeting of the Ventura City Council. Ventura Police Chief Ken Corney said Aera’s support has been vital for the program’s success: “Over the years, Aera’s support has included the offset of startup costs for the program and much needed equipment. Aera donated funds to purchase a van to provide transportation to and from the program for area children and recently donated funds to build and equip a fitness area at the Westpark Community Center so that our local youth can be active in a safe environment.”
