The honor comes as Sistrunk retires as Aera Energy’s president and CEO
Mayor Karen Goh issued the proclamation as Sistrunk prepares to retire Oct. 1 as president and CEO of Aera Energy.
Goh said Sistrunk led the charge for Aera’s commitment to produce oil, “which enables millions of Californians to travel to work every day, allows business to grow and thrive and helps California-grown food to arrive at dinner tables.”
Goh thanked Sistrunk for her “resolute commitment to our community, both economically and socially.”
Sistrunk served as Aera’s top leader for the past five years. She will be succeeded by Erik Bartsch Oct. 1.
Sistrunk served on numerous boards and committees. She held multiple leadership positions during her Aera tenure, including as a member of Gov. Gavin Newsom’s Task Force on Business and Jobs Recovery.
