Nuestro Compromiso

Aera Energy’s unwavering commitment to safety, conservation, and environmental stewardship, means we help produce the oil and gas California relies on and invest in lower carbon energy production, while grounding ourselves in the highest standards of safety and integrity.

Environment and conservation

We strive for continuous improvement in everything we do — investing in state-of-the-art equipment to ensure efficiency and safety in our processes to meet federal, state, and local agency regulations.

Air quality management

Aera operates under some of the most stringent local, state and federal rules and regulations while investing in carbon capture and storage (CCS) and direct air capture technologies.

Biodiversity conservation

Aera’s operations coexist with some of California’s most important ecosystems. As such, Aera has put conservation at the core of our environmental responsibilities.

Our biodiversity conservation efforts include:

Ecosystem preservation - Coles Levee

Aera also manages the 6,059-acre Coles Levee Ecosystem Preserve in partnership with the California Department of Fish and Wildlife (CDFW). Located more than 20 miles southwest of Bakersfield, the preserve is home to more than a dozen rare, threatened and endangered birds, animals and plant life. The preserve represents a unique public-private partnership dedicated to conserving entire ecosystems.

Water quality management

Aera understands that California’s groundwater is a vital resource that supports agriculture, ecosystems, and the economy. We are committed to helping protect potential sources of groundwater through project design, operations and extensive monitoring.
