We did it again! Aera lands spot on Forbes list

Aera named an America’s Best Midsize Employer by Forbes

Aera Energy has been named to Forbes America’s Midsize Employers List for the fourth time.

Forbes’ top midsize employers were selected based on the results of a series of independent and anonymous surveys conducted among 45,000 Americans working for businesses with at least 1,000 but no more than 5,000 employees. The employees surveyed were asked whether they would recommend their employer and about topics such as working conditions, professional development opportunities and compensation.

At Aera, we strive to create a workplace where our employees can connect to the people and things that are important to them; grow personally and professionally and thrive both at home and work. Decisions that impact our people are made with that in mind and we doubled down on this commitment throughout the pandemic. As we move forward, we continue to look for ways to lean into our commitment of creating a workplace where our people want to be every day.

“We are honored that Aera was named on Forbes America’s 2023 Top Midsize Employers’ list, especially during a time when employees and employers alike are grappling with what work looks like in a post-pandemic world,” said Erik Bartsch, president and chief executive officer of Aera Energy. “The credit goes to Aera employees, who have created our culture of inclusion, respect and genuine care for one another and the communities where we operate. We really appreciate all that our employees do to help us power great todays and better tomorrows for the people of California.”

Aera supports employees’ success by providing a variety of professional development and learning opportunities, flexible schedules, generous leave, wellbeing programs and more. Communities where Aera operates in Kern, Fresno, Monterey, and Ventura counties are ideal places for employees to work, live and raise their families with easy commutes, great schools, affordable housing, and a variety of cultural and outdoor activities employees can enjoy year-round.

Aera placed 213 in the 2023 ranking. Aera’s current ranking follows its ninth-place ranking in 2022, 13th place in 2019 and 75th place in 2018.
