LGBT + Allies: Sharing Perspectives, Showing Support

The group stays active in the company and the community with education events.

Aera’s “LGBT + allies” continues to be active in the company and the community.

During 2016’s Pride Month, the company’s lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender and allies employee resource group initiated “Faces of Aera.” Fifty-five employees wrote thoughtful notes about their choice to be a LGBT ally. During a panel discussion, Aera executives Christina Sistrunk, Jeremy Osterstock and Brent Ilott shared their experiences about what it felt like to hide their sexual orientation for a few days. Their personal experiment was eye-opening for the 200 employees who attended the discussion.

The group also responded after the terrorist attack in Orlando by providing an opportunity for members to share their perspectives. They also participated in a candlelight vigil to show support for the LGBT community.
