“Why, given the surge in oil production in the U.S., are we so concerned about the flow of oil through the Strait of Hormuz?” writes Forbes contributor Robert Rapier. “It may surprise many that California is a big reason.”
In his Jun 21 commentary, Rapier adds: “If California fights against oil producers in its own state — but doesn’t reduce demand — that oil will come from somewhere else. And that ‘somewhere else’ may not have the same human rights protections or environmental protections as California.”
